Sultan Square

About the Play

Hudschadsch ibn Jahja is a sultan, and sultans lead a dangerous life. Naur, the revolutionary, has it in for him. But that is what the sultan has his puppet maker Chalim for. Quickly two copies of him are made; they are destined to help Jahja with the tiresome duties of his office and avoid any attempt of assassination. There is only one problem – one day nobody knows anymore who the real sultan is. Not even Hudschadsch ibn Jaha. A comedy of changed identities with an existentialist core.
